Our after school clubs started in earnest this term. We are now running a Dance club on Tuesdays; Personal Presentation on Wednesdays and Creative Arts on Thursdays. All are well attended and many pupils make use of the after club transport provided. We also visited the local theatre twice as part of our extended schools work - Pinocchio which was great fun and very noisy and The Nutcracker Suite which was a complete contrast! Both were greatly enjoyed by pupils and their behaviour at the theatre was excellent.
A wonderful harpist came to perform for us on the first day of term - the pupils were entranced by her performance and captivated by their own success at 'playing' the harp themselves.
The dancers have been out and about entertaining people with their performances.
Upper School spent a few weeks working at Boston - on Side and enjoyed making animated films.
We were amazed to have been nominated for a National Art and Craft Award from the Educational Business Awards and two members of staff visited Arsenal Emirates Stadium to pick up the certificate. There were just 3 schools put forward nationally and, although we were not the winners, we were very pleased to have got that far.
Our choir went to Sheffield again to sing in the Young Voices concert with 4000 other youngsters. It is a long day - returning to school around midnight - but they all gain so much from the experience. The only sad moment of the day was when one of our older pupils realised it would be her last opportunity to go as she leaves school in the Summer!
